SWEDDISH LAPLAND PHOTO TOUR
Adventure in the wildest corner of Europe
September 10 to 18, 2025
Located above the Arctic Circle, Sarek National Park is a place filled with mountain ranges, glaciers, mighty rivers and wildlife in a terrain where tundra and taiga meet. On this photographic trip to Swedish Lapland we will enter the Rapadalen delta, climb to the top of Mount Skierffe and look for moose in the vegetation. At night we will await the visit of the northern lights in a sky completely free of light pollution. Join us on this wild adventure that mixes the best of trekking and relax.
what's the plan?
This photographic trip to Lapland (Sweden) is perfect for landscape and nature lovers in its purest form. For a week we will explore tundra and taiga, deltas and peaks, flora and wildlife under the changing light of the arctic and the colors of a brief and unpredictable autumn.
The first few days we will be at Lake Saggat, a few kilometers below Sarek. We will stay in wooden cabins facing the lake. It is a perfect place to photograph the forest and the reflections, which will undoubtedly give a lot of play at night in case the expected Northern Lights appear. In this part of the trip we will do short hikes, between 4 and 6 kilometers and we will relax in the forest, the lake and the saunas.
On day four we will be picked up by a helicopter, and after flying over some of the most spectacular landscapes in the area, it will leave us next to the border of the Sarek National Park, where we will establish a series of itinerant camps that will allow us to explore the area during the following days of a more intense and adventurous mode.
The difficulty is not high if one is used to walking and mountain excursions. It is a photographic trip to Sweden that is different, designed for lovers of nature, fauna and unhumanized landscapes.

Our trips for photographers: To begin with, we want to comment that it is a photographic trip and that therefore, both the excursions and the pace of the walk are adapted to being able to enjoy them with a camera in hand. This means that the pace is very slow and with many stops.
In any case, we must note that to carry out this and any excursion and/or trekking trip, a minimum physical condition is required and to be accustomed to a minimum of walking in the mountains. If you are someone who is used to hiking through the forest and/or the mountains with a bit of unevenness, this trip should not be a problem for you. In any case, if you doubt this, contact us at info@indomitus.eu and tell us a little about yourself. We will see if this trip suits your needs.
Below we detail the different excursions and walks of the trip with their characteristics:
EXCURSIONS IN ARRENJARKA:
The Arrenjarka environment is very flat. The only excursion that has some unevenness (and it is very little) is the climb to Mount Årrevare, 5 km round trip and 522 m above sea level. The other excursion, to the hidden beach of Björnviken, follows a 4 km forest path with no significant incline.
EXCURSIONS IN SAREK:
- Ascent to the Skierffe: About 12 km away with a positive drop of 770 m.
This is the most difficult excursion of the trip but that does not mean that it is very hard to do. - Ascent to Nammaj: About 12 km of distance and 409 m of positive elevation gain.
On this occasion we must first descend from the Skierffe and enter the valley before ascending this small but interesting mountain from which we can have a 360-degree view of the landscape.

About ArreNjarka
At Lake Saggat we will stay in Arrenjarka. It is a small island within the lake where a family from the area has taken advantage of the environment, historically used as a Sami settlement, to build this cozy accommodation.
Our wooden cabins are located next to the inner shore of the lake and enjoy unbeatable views of the surroundings and the reflections of the forest and its colors on the water. These cabins have double rooms, a living room with sofas and a table, a dining area, a full kitchen, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom with a shower, and a sauna.
The Arrenjarka environment offers endless possibilities, which we will take advantage of during different short and easy excursions to photograph the taiga forest in detail, collect wild berries, enjoy the reflections on the lake and the views of the mountains. With any luck we may have an encounter with ptarmigan and Siberian jays and even the northern lights at night.
About Sarek
In Sarek National Park (Swedish Lapland) there are no human settlements or refuges. There are not even roads; only the erratic paths traced by the fauna. Here the views are not disturbed by the artificial. Civilization is just a distant memory. Sarek is an island of untouched nature dotted with jagged mountains, glaciers, lakes and rivers. An untamed and beautiful space.
The first night we will camp at a short distance from the edge of Sarek but the next days we will move our camp as we walk and explore the area.
Along the route through this area we can photograph mountain lakes, explore the Rapadalen delta and even climb to the top of Skierffe to enjoy the best views of Scandinavia. Also we will try to ascend mount Nammasj.
