- 13 March:
International flight to Keflavík and transfer to Reykjavík. Overnight stay in a guesthouse with breakfast - 14 March:
After breakfast, we will drive to Isafjördur, a small fishing village in the western fjords, where we can take a walk around the area and chat about the Arctic fox and its habits before going to bed. Overnight stay in a guesthouse with breakfast - 15 March:
After breakfast, we will head to the pier, where a boat will take us to the Hornstrandir Peninsula.
As there is no pier, we will disembark with the help of a dinghy, which will also help us transport our equipment and food for the next few days. Our expedition officially begins and who knows, we may have our first wildlife sighting before dark. - 16 – 18 March:
During the days we spend entirely in Hornstrandir, we will spend most of our time with the Arctic foxes.
The lack of fear and curiosity of these animals will make it easier for us to take photographs at close range, as, to the surprise of many, the animals themselves will approach us.
We will usually take most of the photographs from the vicinity of the house. However, if the snow conditions allow it, we will be able to take short walks into the valley or along the coast. During these walks, we can see fox tracks, observe some birds or simply enjoy the surrounding landscape. At night, we will be on the lookout for opportunities to photograph starry landscapes and the Northern Lights. - 19 March:
In the morning, we will take our last photos of the surroundings and, with any luck, say goodbye to the Arctic foxes with one last photo session.
Sometime between midday and early afternoon, we will return to Isafjördur. Once in the village, we can celebrate the success of our expedition and spend a quiet afternoon reviewing and commenting on photographs or taking a pleasant stroll through the village.
Overnight stay in a guesthouse with breakfast. - 20 March:
Transfer to Reykjavík.
After dropping off our bags and resting briefly, we will go out for dinner to celebrate the success of our expedition and thus return to contact with society after so many days in isolation. Night in a guesthouse with breakfast. - 21 March:
Reykjavík will seem like a big city after so many days without seeing houses, cars or people, but it is inhabited by only 120,000 inhabitants (a third of the Icelandic population). We will spend the day exploring the most photogenic streets and corners, visiting a museum or buying a souvenir or two. Night in a guesthouse with breakfast. - 22 March:
At Keflavik Airport, we will take the plane that will take us to Barcelona (or Madrid).
*NOTE: The weather in the remote north of Iceland can be unpredictable and particularly harsh in winter. For this reason, we have chosen to have two days left (Ísafjördur and Reykjavík) to allow us a minimum of flexibility in case we have to spend an extra night in Hornstrandir or Isafjördur for safety reasons and to avoid the complications that could arise from missing our international flight.
€3,480 per person (full trip, as shown in the itinerary)
€2,950 per person (Hornstrandir only). Includes 5 days (15th to 19th March) on the remote Hornstrandir peninsula. This option is ideal if you are travelling around Iceland and want to take advantage of this adventure. With this option, we will meet at the pier on the day of departure. Hotels before or after Hornstrandir are not included.
Small group photography trip: Group size is 4 travellers + the guide. This allows us to offer more personalised teaching and attention, adapting to the abilities and interests of each student and/or traveller while reducing the impact we may have on wildlife.

Our trips for photographers: First of all, we would like to point out that this is a photography trip and, therefore, both the excursions and the pace of walking are adapted so that you can enjoy them with your camera in hand. This means that the pace is very slow and there are many stops.
That said, most of the time we will spend waiting around the house, waiting for the animals to come to us.
If the weather is good, we will be able to take walks into the valley to photograph landscapes and along the coast, in search of new landscapes and other fox families. The maximum distance in this case would be 2.5 km each way.
To reserve a place on our trips, please fill in the form below or write to us at info@indomitus.eu.
A deposit of 50% of the trip price is required.
You can book your own flights, but we recommend doing so through our partner agency, Travel Ponent, so that we can all arrive on the same flight.
We book the flights once the minimum group size has been reached. At this point, you can also make the second payment for the trip.
