Above the Arctic Circle lies the wildest natural area in Europe. In Sarek there are no human settlements or shelters. There are not even roads, only the erratic paths that the fauna traces. Here the views are not disturbed by the artificial. Civilization is just a distant memory. Sarek is an island of untouched nature dotted with jagged mountains, glaciers, lakes and rivers. An untamed, beautiful and potentially dangerous space.

Our first trekking in the area was an idyllic walk through the tundra, with spectacular views of mountains and northern lights. However, Sarek would not make it so easy for us on our second adventure.
